Saloon Juice Amber Lager, a crisp, complex and refreshing brew made for Texans by Texans, is now available in our Austin taproom and at select craft beer sellers throughout the Lone Star State.

Saloon Juice is malt-forward with caramel and toasted cracker notes. The shining star of the malt bill is Brown Field 10 Texas Munich, sourced from Blacklands Malt, located only 20 miles from our Austin Brewery. Brown Field 10 Texas Munich has rich malt and lightly toasty characteristics with subtle notes of chocolate. It establishes a smooth malt foundation that’s balanced by a polite-yet-firm hop finish spearheaded by quintessential noble hop Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and complemented by French Aramis. The result is clean, crisp, floral and earthy with herbal and citrus flavors.

The recipe was inspired by the Texas Hill Country, where German immigrants settled by the thousands in the 19th century. The German dedication to brewing has had a heavy influence on Texas-made beer ever since. Austin Head Brewer, Luke Burcham, said, “It’s full-flavored and light-bodied, combining German style with Texas flavor. The new brew is crafted and canned at our Austin, Texas, location, which celebrates its third anniversary on Sept. 14. The brewery will celebrate the occasion in classic Oskar Blues style with live music. The evening will offer local music curated by Dug Fresh Productions capped by Austin based Psych Pop band Calliope Musicals. Accenting the music all evening for additional viewing pleasures is ACID Light Show. Classic Oskar Blues beers will be available as well as new Saloon Juice Amber Lager.
