We continue to push the limits of what people can expect from craft beer. Our beers on tap are a constantly changing cast of characters. Here are some of the recent players. Stop by our beer blessed Oskar Blues Grill & Brew, The Tasty Weasel Taproom or Home Made Liquids & Solids to see what’s on tap tonight.
Deviant IPA – This beer is intended to be a sensory assault for hop lovers. At 8.0% ABV, four hop additions during the brew process, and a final wallop of excessive Columbus dry-hopping, this beer is meant to say one thing: MORE HOPS! Perfect for these cool winter nights, The Deviant is a returning favorite from the little brewery in Lyons, Colorado that started the Canned Revolution!
Velvet Elvis Stout - This beer was originally brewed for the brewer’s wife, a dedicated Stout lover. She requested a dark, rich Stout that she could not see her hand on the other side of the glass. It was to be made full-bodied, with chocolate tones and a creamy finish. And as she is married to a brewer… plenty of hops! At 6.9% ABV, this beer delivered. To pay homage to the Southern roots of Oskar Blues, our buddy Jonny Barber and the smooth character of this beer, we chose to name it the Velvet Elvis. He even made an appearance in the brewery several weeks ago for the brewing of this beer. Check out the Velvet Elvis Video, and enjoy this smooth Stout during the winter months.
Old Double Bagger Barleywine — American-style Barleywine. Still a youngster at this point, Old Double Bagger (ODB for short) has a long life ahead of it. At 13.2% ABV and 100 IBUs this ale will age for years and develop over time. Look for a straight forward spicy citrus character from the exclusive use of Columbus hops and the considerable alcohol with a subdued malt background. This is a work in progress and we look forward to seeing how it ages.
Sour Cherry Ten FIDY – Imperial Stout aged in oak barrel with tart pie cherries. The infamous Ten FIDY imperial stout aged for 10 months in an oak barrel with 36 pounds of tart pie cherries added after 7 months. A slightly lactic character carouses with big alcohol, cherries and roasty-chocolate flavors. The cherry cordial in liquid form. 10% ABV.
Toked Porter
Osktoberfest – 2009 Osktoberfest was designed to welcome the change of seasons. Smooth, earthy, Noble hops are gently paired with the rich tones of German and American malts. Brewed with a true German lager yeast, in a small batch and limited release. Smooth and easy-drinking at a modest 5.0%ABV, festively effervescent, and designed for a full day of celebratory revelry under the Rocky Mountains.
One-Nut Brown Ale – A year round Classic, Full-Bodied Brown Ale Moderately Hopped with Rich Brown Tones, 6.1% ABV
Martzen
Hoppy Seconds – This is our first creation of an emerging new style: An American-Style Belgian Ale. It was brewed with a true Belgian Ale yeast and fermented at a slightly warmer temperature to allow the yeast produce more fruity esters. A very basic malt bill of only 2 row and wheat was used and complimented by an obscene amount of Hersbrucker and Saaz hops. 8.4 % ABV.
Pond Scum – American Bitter Ale
ALTitude – Altbier
Doppelbock
Smoke on The Water – A carmelly, complex, holiday warmer with a gentle smoked finish. 7 % ABV.
Stranahan’s Whiskey Barrel Aged Selections of nearly every brew
