Canned Gordon returns. We've just released a fresh batch of our lusciously hopped Gordon, this time in sporty, printed cans. We canned up about 400 cases of the beer, it'll start appearing this week on shelves at select retailers in Colorado (including Superior Liquors and Boulder Liquor Mart.) A few cases will appear at Green's Beverages locations in GA, too. Get 'em while they last. A few kegs of Gordon will also appear at select bars in CO, GA and NY.

Chub Stick! We're really excited about our new wiz-bang product, Old Chub Stick lip balm. The world's first lip balm made with beer, "Chub Stick" is made with an array of natural ingredients( including beeswax, shea butter, chocolate and macadamia nut oil), Old Chub Scottish Style Ale, and the malts and hops used in making the beer. It sports a malty, chocolatey nose like Old Chub, and its SPF-15, too. Starting this week it's available at our pub, it'll be available for purchase via our Website in a few days.

Sunday shows in October are all 6-9pm this month except October the 15th with Danny Shafer which is 3-6pm due to the Bronco’s game being on at 6:15, right after. Danny’s solo acoustic performance features lots of tunes from his recent CD called “The Good the Bad and the Red Glory Ramblers”. Check him out on www.dannyshafer.com

Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams www.hibeams.com start the month off with their brand of honky tonk music. All the guys in the band are first rate and sound great together closely behind Halden’s country laden twang.

The honky tonk theme continues Oct. 8th with local legend Troy Schoenfelder and his great band Buckskin Stallion www.buckskinstallionmusic.org. They are in the studio finishing off their sophomore CD with special guests like Christian Teele and Todd Livingston contributing to their already great Americana sound.

Lit Bit & the Customatics www.thecustomatics.com bring their Texas Honky tonk sound back to Oskar’s. It’s always a treat to have Jen and the boys in town. If you have never heard Lil Bit sing you must come hear the giant country voice this little woman possesses.

White water ramble plays the last Sunday of the month a very eclectic acoustic group that plays just about every style of American music there is and all tastefully done, it’s a pleasure to have this concert band play at Oskar’s. www.whitewaterramble.com

Don’t miss the Lyons High School Jazz Band when they come on over to Oskar’s on Tuesday the 17th at 7:30pm to show us what they are working on already. This is a treat and music Director Karen Gregg always has the kids sounding great. Every Tuesday is Bluegrass pick time so come join the best pick in Boulder County from 8-11pm in the upstairs lounge and surrounding area.

Thursdays are singer/songwriter night so come over and bring your instrument and get on stage during the breaks in the hosts set and show us what you got. Maybe you have a song you have been working on and what to share it with us. Every week from 8- 11pm. The host lineup this month includes: Marty Jones – 10/5 Pete Kartounes- 10/12 Mary Russell- 10/19 Little Joe Piedmont-10/26 from Oklahoma travels here with his Dad Rob McLaren a musician who played in these parts during the 70’s and 80’s, come say high to Rob and Little Joe.

October 11th kicks off our monthly comedy night! We had a great crowd last month and expect the fun to continue! Don't miss out on some great laughs and talent from local and national comics from Comedy Works. This month Oskar Blues welcomes a co-headliner show with J. Marc and Mike Long. Comedy will continue monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. Tickets on sale at Oskar Blues in advance for $10 each or 2 for $15 this month. Show starts at 8pm in our downstairs bar.

The first weekend in October starts off Friday the 6th with Maynard Mills a native of Gary Indiana who resides in Denver and plays lots of classic blues and funky danceable tunes from the 70’s.

Then on Saturday the 7th a new band comes to Oskar’s with big credentials. Harmonious Junk www.harmoniousjunk.com sports lead guitarist Damon Wood straight from a seven-year stint with The Godfather of Soul James Brown. This band from Denver is funky of course and is guaranteed to get you on the dance floor, lots of originals that really have the groove and some you might recognize.

The second weekend features two great female vocalists from the area. For her first ever show at Oskar’s Linda Storey www.lindastorey.com and her daughter Jessica and their alleluia band rock out for M. S. Linda sings from her wheel chair and writes great songs, she has MS but just can’t stop singing and playing the blues, come support this woman and her efforts to get MS into the spotlight on Friday the 13th. One of Oskar’s special favorites the Erica Brown Band www.ericabrownband.com is here on Saturday the 14th. The band is so tight and the vocal harmonies are the best around, need I say more?

The next weekend is going to be hot with the reigning King of Zydeco Roy Carrier and his band from Lawtell Louisiana. Roy hasn’t been in this area for a few years, he plays the true Zydeco from the old days. Don’t miss his special guy and his brand of Dancing Zydeco music and a rare special performance.

The great Lil’ Dave Thompson www.electrofi.com from Greenville Mississippi is back on Saturday the 21st. Dave torn the place up last time with his great Delta influenced Mississippi guitar playing and singing. His new CD is getting great critical acclaim and Dave wowed them at many festivals this summer. He originally recorded on Fat Possum records with R.L. Burnside and Jr. Kimbrough and is a real talent.

Scott Holt www.scottholt.com and his great band return to Oskar’s, from Nashville Friday the 27th. Scott is one of the most requested guitar players at Oskar’s. He spent 10 years in Buddy guy’s band learning from a true master of the instrument and Scott learned well. The dynamics of the band are one of the reasons they are so well received.

Mary Russell www.maryjonesrussell.com returns on the 28th, this time with her full blues band, The Blues Boys. Mary really lets it all hang out with this band of blues veterans. Her enthusiasm and vocal prowess with delight the crowd for sure.

On the 21st in our upstairs cocktail area we welcome back the fabulous George Nelson. George plays every 3rd Saturday evening at Oskar Blues from 6-9 pm. Come on down and enjoy some classic piano blues and familiar tunes and request some of your favorites.

Football Season is well underway. Join us during NFL games for .25 cent hot wings and drink specials.
