Fast cars and great craft beer are teaming up for the first time ever at the Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS)—NASCAR center of the universe. This is an historic partnership between America’s hometown sport and Oskar Blues all-American made beer.

Oskar Blues Brewery’s Super Late Model race car was just the first step. Now Dale’s Pale Ale and Mama’s Little Yella Pils will be the only craft beers available throughout CMS—at the Super Speedway, the Speedway Club, zMax Dragway and The Dirt Track. Cause craft beer and fast cars go together like moonshiners and lonesome ridge roads.

America’s first canned-craft beers, brewed in beautiful Brevard, NC, are already winding their way down from the mountains for Speed Week, which kicks off the race season with a roar the week before Memorial Day.

“We are so excited to welcome Oskar Blues here. As a facility, this ensures we deliver the best products and experience for our fans, and Oskar Blues provides that,” says Brandy Mills, CMS business development director.

OB Founder Dale Katechis says: “We just like getting after it and being competitive. Whether it’s our complex and challenging beers, the aggressive mountain bikes our bike company (www.reebcycles.com) makes or going to the race track…speed is in our blood.”

More than 1.5 million racing enthusiasts visit the Speedway annually, and those folks CAN now be craft beer enthusiasts too.

Grab a CAN of Oskar Blues Brewery’s cold refreshing voluminously-hopped Dale’s Pale Ale or crisp gold metal winner Mama’s Little Yella Pils at select concession stands, the Winner’s Circle Lounge, Whiskey River and the Fan Zone for the upcoming Coca-Cola 600 and Bank of America 500.

Now the original craft beer-in-a-can is Charlotte Motor Speedway’s first official craft brewery partner.

Spring at the farm is off to a great start, all the recent moisture has really pushed the hops into high gear. It is also great for the pastures creating rich green grass the cows love. The hops are on their third year and we are looking forward to focusing on cone production. The past two years we have really focused on root growth and plant establishment. Now that they are established, we can focus on shoot development that leads to cone production. In the photo you can see how abundant the new hop shoots are, this is a great indicator that the plant has an extensive well developed root system to support aggressive growth. We will be pruning off these initial shoot tips and cook them up at the restaurant. Chef Loui has already pickled some yum! The shoots that emerge after pruning will be more aggressive and yield more cones.

If you haven’t yet visit the NEW CHUBurger fast Casual Oskar Blues Burger Joint located at 1225 Ken Pratt Blvd. open 10am – 9pm everyday. It’s an outstanding place that pays tribute to the Hops and Heifers Farm by serving all natural Angus Beef and Berkshire pork burgers and more! Farmer Geoff reccomends the Berk Berger on Country Toast the Broccoli Slaw and a G’Knight Imperial Red IPA, BOOM!

Thanks for everyone’s support, twitter us up @hopsandheifers!

CHUBurger craft casual burger joint, our newest restaurant venture, is now open, fulfilling local cravings for wider integration of the brewery’s locally raised all natural 100 percent Black Angus beef, Berkshire pork and hopped-up craft brews on a menu built around serving mouth-watering and thoughtfully sourced food – quickly.

CHUBurger is a mix of down-home, country-farmhouse style furnishings with roughly 90 seats. Snow fencing from Wyoming has been re-purposed on the walls. The bar is made from the sides of a train car, and the bar top is a solid slab of train car floor. The distinctly Oskar Blues home-made grub comes quick for the lunch hour but the craft beer selection and comfy vibe beg you to stay (we think you’ll want to!).

Fresh hand-cut fries served plain or in combination with roasted shoshito peppers with home-made ginger ketchup offer a fresh and spicy twist. CHUBurger is created around Oskar Blues homegrown Hops & Heifers farm beef, but there’s plenty more on the menu too. The BUFFburger is made with fresh all natural local bison, an OMEGAburger features wild Coho salmon with Greek yogurt tartar sauce, and the BERKburger has a Hops & Heifers-raised heritage Berkshire pork patty topped with blue cheese butter and bacon. Build your own burgers with fresh options available to fit your creative side.

“CHUBurger is grass fed and spent grain supplemented beef from the Hops & Heifers farm to go against the ordinary. Conscience-cuisine with handcrafted fresh ingredients delivered right to you over a Dale’s Pale Ale.” says chef Jason Rogers.

Wash down a mouth-watering burger with a cold craft beer. CHUBurger features a full-tilt beer bar pouring Oskar Blues regulars, pilot brews and guest taps. A rotation of beer in cans and bottles from America’s favorite craft breweries rounds out the Colorado centric selection. “Try before you die” frozen custard shakes (also known as “handshakes”….) and root beer floats using Oskar Blues’ B. Stiff and Sons Old Fashioned Root Beer delivers the family-friendly menu.

Get your CHUBurger grub on at 1225 Ken Pratt Boulevard, just a mile down the road from the Oskar Blues brewery and Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids and Solids restaurant, all of which are only eight miles from the Hops & Heifers Farm. CHUBurger is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Take-out, catering and outdoor seating are available.

Order quick, stay a while.

Check out www.chuburger.com for more info!

Mama’s Little Yella Pils couldn’t let Dale’s Pale Ale have all the 19.2oz-fun! You may have started seeing these big yella pils on liquor store shelves, but if not, keep an eye out – they’ll be flooding the country this month, just in time for summer. We’ve always said Mama’s is like “Summer in a CAN!” and now you get even more of it.

We released our flagship Dale’s Pale Ale in 19.2oz stovepipe cans last October during the Great American Beer Festival. People loved it. They also asked, “What the fuh-CAN-eh is up with these large cans, Oskar Blues??”

19.2oz cans didn’t exist in America before last October. The can size comes from overseas – the “Imperial Pint.” We figured this can is perfect as a single-serve for those days when you just need a little more. They’re great for tailgating, pool-side parties, BBQ’s, and all the outdoor activities you can think of – biking, hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, skiing, riding, snowshoeing, snow-angel-making… the list goes on. Not to mention at any kind of sporting event – look for them at stadiums around the country in our 31-states (and counting!).

Now, you can WOW! all your friends and enjoy both Dale’s Pale Ale and Mama’s Little Yella Pils 19.2oz stovepipe cans at all your favorite shindigs.

I’ve got 19.2oz of fun in my hand – what’s in yours??
