Mama’s Little Yella Pils....hitting shelves near you NOW!
Our new canned good is a delicious, small-batch
version of the beer that made Pilsen, Czechoslovakia famous. Mama’s is
made with hearty amounts of pale malt, German specialty malts, and
traditional (Saaz) and 21st century Bavarian hops. It’s the perfect
antidote for the watered-down, cornfed versions of pilsner clogging
America’s shelves. Our first canned lager, it’s also fermented at cool
temperatures with a German yeast. While it’s rich with Czeched-out
flavor, Mama’s gentle hopping (about 35 IBUs) and low ABV (just 5.3%)
makes it a luxurious but low-dose beer. Look for our Gold Metal Winner
on US shelves in March. Sadly, the Feds rejected our “Take Two and Call
Us in the Morning” line on the can.

Oskar Blues Brewery grows 64% in 2008
Oskar
Blues Brewery enjoyed its sixth straight year of significant growth,
increasing its beer production by 64% in 2008. The company -- the
nation’s first hand-canning craft brewery and makers of canned Dale’s
Pale Ale, Old Chub Scottish Style Ale, Gordon, and Ten FIDY Imperial
Stout -- produced 19,500 barrels of beer in 2008. The brewery produced
12,409 barrels in 2007. (A barrel of beer equals 31 gallons.) This
growth makes Oskar Blues one of the fastest-growing craft brewers in
America.
The Brewers Association has just reported that US craft beer production as a whole grew by 5.8%. Get details HERE. The brewery’s 2008 growth was aided by its expansion into new
markets (Texas, California and other states) and the opening of a new
35,000-square-feet brewery and cannery in Longmont, Colorado.
Our
brewery in Lyons, CO continues to produce beers for the famed
brewpub/music venue there. Oskar Blues began canning its beers (one can
at a time on a table-top machine) in November of 2002. The move made
Oskar Blues the first US craft brewer to brew and can its own beer.
Our beers
are now available in 23 states: CO, AZ, CA, ID, WA, OR, AK, NM, GA, VA,
NJ, PA, MA, NY, WI, RI, CT, MD, NC, FL, TN, TX and SC.
