Weekday Music
July was a great month for music at Oskar Blues and August promises to be just as good.
We start the month on Wednesday August 1st with our new electric blues
jam hosted by Tim Crawford and the Four AM band. If the first one last
month is any indication you had better get here early and sign up to
play, everyone got to play last time but there were lots of jammers and
some great stuff played all night long. Come support this jam and we
will increase it to two Wednesdays next month.
We have two other Wednesday nights in August for music the 15th we will
have a songwriters in the round show with Danny Shafer www.dannyshafer .com , Scott Von and Sarah Sample( finalist in this years folk fest songwriter competition) and I'm sure a few surprises as usual.
Then on the 29th we are having a very special show featuring Greg Allman's son Devon Allman & Honeytribe www.honeytribe.co m .
Devon sings like his dad and plays guitar like his late uncle Duane,
Honeytribe rocks like the Allman brothers. Make sure to see this show
as this young man is destined to be a big star and you may never get a
chance to see his band up close and personnel again. We had to pull
strings to get this show-BE There.
Thursdays start off on the 2nd with Lyons own dobro master Todd Livingston www.toddplivin gston.com and his bluegrass band.
Then on the 9th will be The Weevils an old time band complete with a clogger, should be fun.
We have James Moors( Sterling Waters) www.sterlingwa ters.com from
Minnesota and his friends Kort and Beth McCumber on the 16th playing
mostly heartfelt originals, then one of our local favorites The Billy Pilgrims www.myspace.com/thebillypilgrimsband with their old country and honky-tonk music a real crowd pleaser.
We end the Thursdays on the 30th with award winning Spring Creek Bluegrass band www.spri ngcreekbluegrassband.com also
from Lyons. Spring Creek has won both the Telluride and Rockygrass
competitions this year, come on over and hear why and congratulate
them.
The second Monday (the 13th) is our acoustic plug-in jam and open stage, everyone gets to play either by yourself or with the band. Times are 7:30-10pm for the jam.
Of course don't forget the best Bluegrass pick in Boulder County every Tuesday from 8-11pm.
On Tuesday the 14th downstairs we have a special show of young rockers from Mojo's music Academy in Longmont. Jessica from Mojomama
and her husband have opened a music academy for kids and they are
coming over to show us what they have learned this summer. It is a
great occasion to support the arts and kids in particular. Come on over
have a bite and lend your support to these youngsters and their
accomplishments from 7-9pm. David Lyons Bluesologist McIntyre

undoubtedly do the duck-walk across the top of the bar and play some
great Chicago blues.
