Hello Oskar Blues Brewery fans, The Brewers Association has just released its annual craft beer review, it declares Oskar Blues the nation’s top-producing brewpub in the US. Oh yeah! Thanks to our Canned Beer Apocalypse, live music and down- home hospitality - and your devout support - we now make and sell more beer than any of the nation’s 980 brewpubs.

So July is Big Thank You month for our beloved customers. Starting July1 we’ll have an early bird menu from 3-5 that will feature special discount- priced menu items. We’re also having a happy hour from 3-7 PM, Monday-Friday with all wine, well and draft beer (except Gordon) for just $2 Monday nights in July are all-you-can-eat-catfish nights, Tuesday nights kids 12 and under eat free. Come in and let us thank you with a luscious beer and a tasty meal at a great price.

We’ve also opened our Lyons Classic Video Arcade in the downstairs bar, it’s a sister operation to Lyons Classic Pinball next door. It’s got black lights, Pac Man, Missile Command, Asteroids and many more of the vintage games that gobbled up student loan and gas money years ago. It’s big fun, bring your quarters.

July’s music highlights include jazz-tinged blues guitar hero Chris Cain on July 1, and Louisiana’s Ronnie Frugge in a Sunday afternoon show on July 2 . On July 6 Roger Hurricane Wilson plays our Thursday songwriter night, then brings in his band on Friday night to reel and rock.

Jed & Kelley from New York City host the singer/songwriter night on the 13th, California’s A.J. & the Shapes bring in the rock & blues on Friday the 14th. Fred James (a six-time Grammy nominee) is on guitar for the Shapes, this band is mighty hot. Lincoln’s Tijuana Gigolos throw down the Mexi-melt rockabilly on Saturday the 15th, Jeff & Vida are here the following Sunday afternoon. Vida has one of the best country twangs you will ever hear.

Tempa & the Tantrums play their fun and rockin’ blues on Friday the 21st, while soulful Mississippi bluesman Lil’ Dave Thompson (of Fat Possum Records fame) appears on the 22nd. July 26 we feature Rockygrass favorite Hot Strings, local jam-grass favorite Shanti Groove gets the place wriggling on Thursday, July 27. Other acts rounding out the month include CX-1 (formerly Snake Oil Medicine show), the Packway Handle Band and the Delta Blues Project.

Anderson Farms, in association with WannaBe Productions, KBCO, and Oskar Blues presents the Cross County Line Blues Festival. Held at Anderson Farms in Erie Colorado, with a backdrop of the Rocky Mountains, the festival will feature a line-up of some of the best blues performers in the world.
