Beer Fest Tickets Sold Out!
Tickets to this year's Great American Beer Festival (Oct 9-11 in
Denver) are Sold Out.
We don't want you to miss the planet's greatest beer festival, so we're offering
a way for hip-shaking beer lovers to earn free tickets to the soon to
be soldout Great American Beer Festival.
Each year we put on the headphones-only Silent Disco at the GABF at
Denver's Colorado Convention Center. This year we're offering a
new Silent Disco contest to get you in the door. In order to cash
in on our offer you must film short clips of yourself
dancing, post the clips to Youtube, and then send a link of the
clip to silentdisco@oskarblues.com .
Oskar Blues will group the clips on the canning craft brewery's Youtube
page www.youtube.com/OskarBlues
The Oskar Blues staff will pick 5 winners from the entrants, the
winners will each win a pair of tickets to the Thursday, Oct 9 opening
session of the GABF.
At 8:30 that night in the Oskar Blues Silent Disco, the winners will
compete in a short dance off. The winner will win tickets to next
year's GABFand prizes from us.
Winners will selected on a combination of dancing prowess, beeriness
and number of views by Youtube viewers. The winners will be
announced on October 6 at www.oskarblues.com . Winners must be 21 years or older.
Come have a beer with us there at booth H-31, and in the Oskar Blues
Brewery Silent Disco at the back left corner of the Colorado Convention
Center.
October Music at Oskar Blues
The
month of October is jammed packed with music this month. Starting on
Wednesday’s we will be hosting the International Blues challenge on the
1st and the 15th, local Colorado bands will be vying for a chance to go
to Memphis in February 2009 to represent us. We also will have the very
talented daughter of Willie Nelson, Paula www.paulanelsonband.com
on the 22nd; she is a wonderful singer/songwriter like her Dad. On the
29th we will feature employees from Oskar’s like Eve, Jamie, Eric, Sean
& more don’t miss this fun night of great stuff. Thursday’s will
start on the 2nd with Glove Trucker www.myspace.com/bjbronco
a great old country group from Fort Collins. We will have a super
bluegrass band Long Road Home with Grammy award winning Gene Libbea www.longroadhomebluegrassband and Pete Wernick on the 9th.The Billy Pilgrims www.myspace.com/thebillypilgrimsband will be here on the 16th and Kort McCumber www.kortmusic.com on the 23rd and Todd Livingston bluegrass www.myspace.com/toddplivingston band on the 30th.
Sunday will start with Elephant Revival String band www.elephantrevival.com from Nederland on the 5th with Halden Wofford and the Hi-Beams on the 12th www.hibeams.com then on the 19th we will have the Bop Kings from Texas www.myspace.com/bopkings with their version on honky-tonk and finish the Sundays on the 26th with The Unknown Americans www.dannyshafer.com .
We will have two different young bands on Tuesdays with the Lyons High
School jazz band on the 21st and The Longmont youth all stars on the
28th. These kids work hard and deserve your support. We have our
outstanding Bluegrass picks on every Tuesday from 8-11pm hosted by
Lyons own K.C. Groves and Eric Thorin and of course our acoustic
plug-in jam on the second Monday the 13th this month sponsored by the
Colorado Blues Society going from 7:30-10pm.
We
start the weekends off with Chris Daniels and the Kings and their brand
of R& B www.chrisdaniels.com on Friday the 3rd followed by Joe Moss from Chicago www.joemossband.com
on the 4th with lots of original Chicago style blues and classics. On
Friday the 10th we will feature blues from Italy with Marco Pandolfi www.marcopandolfi.com
on harp with Richard Ray Farrell from the east coast & Dan Treanor
from Denver collaborating. On the 11th it will be The Informants www.theinformantsband.com and the party they always bring. The 17th will bring the pairing of Lyons K.C. Groves www.kcgroves.com and Romano Paoletti with friends. We will have zydeco with JJ & the Zydeco Dogpound www.myspace.com/jjandthezydecodogpound all the way from Louisiana on Saturday the 18th for your dancing pleasure. Lil' Dave Thompson www.lildavethompson.com from Mississippi will showcase Mississippi blues for us on Friday the 24th, followed by Mary Russell www.maryjonesrussell.com and her great blues and country band on the 25th. We have a big party planned with The Interstate Stash Express www.mysapce.com/interstatestashexpress on Friday the 31st.

is a one day event promoting the Preservation of our precious Earth,
